What's better than a new purse?

The answer: Another new purse. Yes, I am a purse/bag junkie. One can just never get enough or at least we can't in our household and hmmmmm my sister Chele's house either. *grin* I found this purse on line through the chatter of other demos and the company selling them were giving a deal to demos. They know that to spread the word like wildfire, you need to tell a SU demo. LOL I like this bag so much that I'm thinking about selling for them. If you'd like more info please feel free to contact me by phone or email. These bags are of a wonderful quality and a great way to show your style. This is the first insert I've made for it, but I'm feeling more coming on. That way you feel like you have a different purse more often. Frank will be happy about that I'm sure. LOL Well, have a wonderful day!

This post has been edited to clarify--I guess I used the wrong wording in this. I am not starting another business when I mention selling. What I meant is that I would see about getting bags and doing classes to make inserts. Sometimes the written word and what is in our heads doesn't come out the same way. Again if you are interested please contact me and I will see what the interest is for me holding a class. If you are not my customer or are not interested in a class and would like the info to just order direct then please visit http://www.dailywindow.com/ I'm not sure if buying them in bulk would give us a discount or not. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding.

Weekend Creations

Good Morning! I thought since I had told you I had cakes to make on the weekend I would show you a couple of them. Denny & Leann Smith just celebrated their 25th Wedding anniversary and their daughter Michelle ordered the cake for their surprise party. I can remember Denny and Leann going together in high school---and they said it wouldn't last. LOL If anyone would have told me that I'd be making their 25th anniversary cake back then..........hard to believe--not that they are married this long, but that I'm making cakes. Here's to another 25 together Denny and Leann. I ended up taking the top part off since Michelle had a piece to go on top, but I'm glad I got the picture with this one. To me the top on the cake is the finishing touch.
.
This cake was for one of my customers Jessica Zarnke. She is expecting her first baby and as you can see, it's a girl. Best wishes to her and her husband.

Just a simple Thank Ewe!

I've got cakes to bake today. Ugh! I guess after almost 20 yrs. of them I just don't get that excited. Maybe I should post them here and I'd get more excited? No, I doubt it! LOL So since I don't have time to stamp I thought I'd share with you a card a made and sent a couple weeks ago. I think I sent it to my sister as a thanks for my b-day gift. This card isn't anything real fancy ( you didn't think I was going to waste my embellishments on her, now did you?) The colors didn't scan very well and I must have been too lazy that day to set it up for a pic. The colors are Soft Sky, Night of Navy, Real Red, and Old Olive. It really did look better in person. Honest! Ok, I'm stalling. I need to go bake those cakes.

Big Flowers

I subscribe to fellow Canadian demo Julie Buhler's blog and I am always in awe of her work. Well today I just had to CASE the card she had posted yesterday. I used the Big Flowers set and Soft Sky for the color, but the layout is the same. First time I've stamped on the "Pretties" flowers. Way cool! I'm seeing a bunch of these in my future. The center of the flower is a pewter Build a Brad and the piece inside was punched from Soft Sky DSP using a 1/2" circle punch. The flower background was stamped in versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I'm telling you this is a WOW card! Hope you enjoy.

Magnetic Board

Here is another magnetic board I made last week. The boards were something I had picked up at the Target $ spot awhile back. I just used sticky strip to adhere the DSP. The fruit pieces were stamped, punched out and then mounted on magnet sheet and cut out. Ok, they were punched out, but I wouldn't recommend doing that to your punches. I think it's too hard on them and in fact I ended up cutting the last few with scissors. I used the Crop-a-dile to punch holes to attach my silver hodgepodge piece. Hope you like it.

Spring Expo Projects

Here a just a few of the things I've made to sell at the Spring Expo that will take place at Cross Lutheran School tomorrow. I would love to see some of you stop by. It is a great way to see some of the other direct selling vendors as well. All vendors will be donating a portion of their sales to the school. You won't be sorry you came. The doors open at 9:00 and there is no entry charge unless you are coming for the scrapbooking part and it goes until 3:00 pm. Hope to see you there.

Hip-hippo-ray! It's warm today!

  • Can you believe we might hit 70ยบ today? This cute little hippo is happy today too because of the weather. I used an Aqua Painter and ink pads (smoosh the lid into the pad before opening) to color her in. Don't you love her pretty red toenails? Everyone needs a manicure when the weather gets nice. LOL I used lots of punches as well---large and small oval, small star, photo corner punch. Colors are Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Real Red, Yoyo Yellow marker for the balloon, white gel pen for the stitching lines on the photo corners, Night of Navy ink cartridge for the Sweet Stars stampin' wheel background. The stamp set of course is Pun Fun and is part of the April special. Buy the set Pun Fun and get the Sweet Star wheel FREE. There are 5 other sets in this promo as well. They are listed below. Bad Dog!!!

Remember this? I posted this beautiful box awhile ago here on my blog. I've also been taking it to show at my workshops. Well, this morning when I came down to my stamp room, this is what I found. It was tucked in my SU black bag and for some reason she felt the need to get it out and destroy it. Now Tippy is not normally a bad dog and doesn't chew on things or even get into things, but the funny part is that this is the second time she has destroyed one of these decorated papermache boxes. I made one about a year ago that was on the table and the cat knocked it off and Tippy destroyed it. Am I seeing a pattern here? What would she have against a papermache box? Go figure! Needless to say I'm not very happy with Tippy today and I think she is a lousy paper crafter to say the least.

Summer Picnic Fun

Don't you just love the cheerfulness of the Summer Picnic DSP? My 2 fav colors have always been red and blue so this DSP is right up my ally. I also am having fun with the Pun Fun stamp set. Hope you enjoy them. If you'd like to know any details please feel free to email me.

Hey Baby!

Know what this is? Yes, it is a baby food container. My friend Anne has been saving some of these for me since she thought I could do something crafty with them. She gives them to me clean of course. We have some other friends who now have 3 babies and yesterday as I was feeding one of them some peas I told her (the mom, not the baby--lol) to save the containers. She said she would, but she's not washing them out. ooooo yuck! Guess I'll have to catch them when I can. LOL
Anyway, I covered this using the Afternoon Tea DSP and the stamp set used is Boho Backgrounds, pumpkin pie fusion flower and hodgepodge brad and scalloped circle punch.
Have a great day!

Embracing Life

Ok, I know it's been over a week since I posted last and I'm sure there are some of you that have been missing my posts. As the title of this says I've been trying to Embrace Life a little. I've been taking it easy or at least trying to. After a very busy February and most of March too I decided I just needed to take care of me a little. I've got a few cards to show you today though and I hope you like them. Right now I can't decide which is my favorite set---Embrace Life (Spring/Summer Collection Catalog) or Live Your Dream (Occasions Mini Catalog). I do know though that I love using the Afternoon Tea DSP (Occasions Mini) with either set. The colors and style just seem so peaceful.
Enjoy!
